Walter Stentson McKinnon, son of the late Stanley and Isabelle McKinnon, was born November 13, 1932, in Hoke County, NC. He departed this life at his home on Monday, November 21, 2016, at the age of 84. He retired from LinPac and later worked a few years at Greensboro Piedmont International Airport.

Mr. McKinnon was a member of Church where he enjoyed serving and praising the Lord.  He had an outgoing spirit and everybody loved him.  He was a great cook and loved to hosted cookouts and dinners to feed people.  He was known to many as “Uncle Stint” and played a father role to many of his family members.  Brother McKinnon was united in holy matrimony to Barbara McKinnon.  He had eight children, four of whom preceded him in death: Sharlene, Dorresa, Walter Jr., and Wallace.

He leaves to cherish his memories, three daughters: Cathy McNeill Frazer of Raeford, NC, Angela Hicks (Larry), and Elaine McKinnon all of Greensboro, NC; one son: Harvey McKinnon, Greensboro, NC; nine grandchildren; seventeen great-grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
