Edwin Alexander McNeill

Alexander "Dill" McNeill was born April 16, 1926 in Scotland County, North Carolina to the proud parents of Will & Millie McPhatter McNeill who preceded him in death. On Monday, March 26, 2018 God in his infinite wisdom called him home.

He attended Shaw School and was later employed with the City of Raeford for 25 years until his retirement.

 Alexander confessed Christ at an early age as his personal Savior. He lived a life of service, in both his personal and professional life. He was always willing to lend a helping hand to those closest to him in any way possible. He had a knack for creating nicknames for his children and grandchildren. When he wasn't tending to his garden, he could be found cruising the streets of Laurinburg, Raeford and Red Springs listening to classical music.

 Alexander joins his wife, Ruby Lee McNeill; two foster children, Dorothy and Walter McNeill; nine brothers and sisters in heaven.

 His life will be forever be cherished in the lives of his children: four daughters, Mary McQueen (Cary) from Raeford NC, Carrie Monroe-Fraison from Red Springs NC, Sheila Buie from Raeford NC, and Laverne McNeill from Lumberton,  NC. Three sons: Edwin McNeill (Elizabeth) from Red Springs NC, Howard McNeill from Wagram NC, and Roger Drake (Sylvia) from Red Springs NC; one sister, Rachel Cole, of Richmond VA; one brother-in-law, Richard Drake; one sister-in-law, Delores Claxton; 28 grandchildren; 36 great-grandchildren; 7 great-great-grandchildren & a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives & friends.
