Ms. Jessie Bell Williams, 86 transitioned on Wednesday, June 3, 2020 at her home in Shannon, NC. She is the daughter of the late Mr. P. J. & Hattie Baldwin.
She attended Oak Ridge Schools in Lumber Bridge, NC and worked as a maid for The Gibson family and a line operator for Proctor Silex in Southern Pines for many years before retiring. She attended Laurel Hill Missionary Baptist Church and accepted Christ at an early age. She served as a Sunday School Teacher, Usher, Tiny Tot Choir Director, and was a part of the CTU Board.
While she didn’t bare any kids of her own, she raised three children and five grandchildren. She also had a helping hand in raising and guiding almost every child in the Baldwin Family at some point in their lives. Although she is not the oldest member of the family, she will forever be considered as the “Matriarch”.
She was preceded in death by her parents, PJ and Hattie Baldwin, her brother Levine McRae and sister Audrey Graham.
She leaves to cherish her memories her daughter, Deirdre Douglas(John), sons, Fred McDonald(Maureen), and Isaac McNeill(Lena), her sister’s, Annie Edwards and Pecolia Leach, 19 grandchildren, 41 great grandchildren, and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
She leaves to cherish her memories children, Deidre Douglas, Frederick McDonald and Isaac McNeil; sisters, Pecolia Leach and Annie R. Edwards.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, June 9, 2020 at 1:00 PM in the chapel. Burial will be at Laurel Hill Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery in Lumber Bridge, NC.
