Margaret Lee (Poole) Shelton

Mrs. Margaret Shelton, age 98 transitioned on Friday, August 6, 2021 at Open Arms Retirement Center in Raeford, North Carolina. 

Mrs. Shelton was born in Pasquotank County, NC to Paul and Mary Bess Poole.  She grew up in Terrytown, NY and lived in Mamaroneck, New York until she retired to Elizabeth City, North Carolina.  She has lived with her cousin, Richard Davenport since her health failed.  

She was preceded in death by her father, Paul Poole; mother, Mary Bartlett; stepfather, Greenville Barlett; son, Samuel Shelton, Jr. and her beloved dog, Kunta.

Mrs. Shelton is survived by her cousin, Richard Davenport (Shirley) of Raeford, NC.
