Although Johnny's transition was unexpected, his final days were spent surrounded by family and friends whom he had touched in numerous ways throughout his life.
Marion was born, and grew to manhood in Hoke County. Marion was a man of few words, altough quiet and reserved he loved life. Marion was a devoted and loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend. He loved his family, his friends, family gatherings, the laughter, music, food, tractors and the beach. Marion was a farm boy for life, farming was his career, he enjoyed it and continued until the week prior to his transition. Something about them tractors and being out in the fields, must have given him peace but also purpose.
