I learned of Darren's passing just this morning. I have s many fond memories of his sense of humor and ability to get under the skin of scout leaders in Troop 99 and while attending Christ the King. People today would call this as bullying or harassment of peers. Instead I always remembered it as Darren's playful spirit and wanting to always share a laugh with a friend. As we all grew older and would see each other in our travels it was far more evidence that we all enjoyed those times. It is with shock that I learn of his untimely death and to say it does not affect me would be untrue. Because each time I pass the courtyard where we played football or walked the block we played tag on our way home. I always here his laughter and and his wide grin after doing something funny. His heart was genuine and he was a true friend and a gentleman.

Al and Kathy, Charles and I send our deepest and heartfelt condolences to you. We are so very sorry we can not be there with you at this time. Darren was my nephew given to me by God and you. Darren and I were friends as well. His passing has left a big hole in my heart and I am missing him. Just know that God knows best and he has chosen His child to come home and rest in His arms.
