Deacon John Washington Blue

Deacon John Washington Blue, son of the late Rev. Dock James Blue and Mattie McLean Blue was born on February 10, 1922 in Raeford, NC. He departed this life on Sunday morning, July 22, 2018 at Scotland Regional Hospice in Laurinburg, NC.  He was married to the late Mrs.Mattie Lou Everette Blue.  

Deacon Blue was ordained as a Deacon on Sunday, May 1, 1988 under the leadership of Rev. R.L. Davis at Mt. Pisgah Missionary Baptist Church and served faithfully until his health began to fail him.

He leaves to cherish memories his daughters, Bernice Blue, Gloria Daniels and Tiney Campbell; four grandchildren, Melanie Southerland, John Daniels, Lori Daniels and Sherrod Gordan; three great grandchildren; sister in law, Marie Hall and a host of other relatives.
