As the Coronavirus and the COVID-19 infection continues to spread across North Carolina, funeral homes and funeral service providers in the state are increasingly faced with questions and concerns from families regarding funeral services, visitations and other events to memorialize the death of loved ones. In response, the NC Board of Funeral Service has provided information to funeral professionals and consumers through the Board website at www.ncbfs.org/coronavirusadvisory to include links to the Centers for Disease Control, the NC Office of the Governor, and the NC Department of Health and Human Services for updates on the virus’ impact on funeral professionals. The Board is also sending targeted emails to funeral practitioners across the state regarding restrictions on funerals and related activities and events in response to the Executive Order that Governor Roy Cooper issued March 27, 2020.
As directed by the Centers for Disease Control, there will be no mass gathering of 50 or more persons within a single room. This includes the gathering of funeral services, memorials, and visitations. Therefore, we are asking all families to call and schedule a face-to-face conference before arriving at the funeral home, by contacting us at 910-875-3700. To ensure the safety of the general public we are only offering a private family service, graveside, and visitations services until further notice.
Thank you for allowing us to serve you during the transition of your love one and this difficult time in our world.
