Devoe Murphy

Devoe Murphy, son of the late Harmon and Mary Ross Murphy ,was born on July 5, 1932 in Hoke County, North Carolina. He departed this life on Thursday September 6, 2018.

Devoe received his early education through Hoke County Public Schools in Shannon N.C. Then continued his education at Upchurch High School.  He leaves to cherish his memory: wife Katherine Murphy of Brooklyn NY, 3 sons Dennis Murphy and Caradio Murphy of Atlanta GA, William T. Murphy of Raleigh NC and 1 daughter Laverne Murphy of Raleigh NC. 11 grandchildren, 26 great grand children, 8 great great grandchildren., siblings Barbara Wright (the sister that was always there for him)and Pauline Carter of Shannon NC, Norman Murphy and Helen Anderson (Ernest) of Baltimore, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.Mr. Murphy leaves to cherish memories his sisters, Barbara Wright, Pauline Carter, Helen Anderson; brother, Norman Murphy.
