Iris Jean Peterkin

Ms. Iris J. Peterkin, age 56 transitioned on Tuesday, May 7, 2019 at Our Lady of Consolation Nursing and Rehabilitative Care in New York.  She was the daughter of the late Deacon James Peterkin and Preppra C. Peterkin.  

Iris graduated from Hoke County High School in 1981, she furthered her education at King’s Business College in Raleigh North Carolina in Business Administration.

 She leaves to cherish her memory, her sisters; Shirley A. Perry (Ernest) of Raeford, NC, Hazel Ware (Kevin) of  Barstow, CA, Five brothers; Terry Peterkin (Natalie), Billy Peterkin (Betty) , Lonnie Peterkin (Robin) and Hubert Peterkin (Della) Glen King (Annie) all of Raeford, NC, five Aunties; Celia Tomlin (Robert) of Brooklyn, NY, Jessie Bell McPhaul of Washington, DC,  Hazel Reed, Onnie B. Peterkin, Catherine Peterkin all of  Raeford, NC. A special niece, Deldreana Peterkin of Brooklyn, New York, four Godchildren; Brittany Johnson of Charlotte, NC, Javon Montalvo, Elijah Kelly, Charisse Alston, her Nana, Elder Gladys Gallop, her confidant, Pastor Monique Morris all of Brooklyn, New York and a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held on Sunday, May 19, 2019 at Leach Springs Missionary Baptist Church; 2 PM.
