Onnie Beatrice Peterkin

Ms. Onnie Beatrice Peterkin of Raeford, NC transitioned on Friday, September 13, 2019 at First Health Hospice in Pinehurst, North Carolina.  She was born in Raeford, NC on May 26, 1940 to the late Joseph and Bessie Melvin.  Onnie Bea was married to the late Mr. Hubert Peterkin.

In 2007, she retired from the House of Raeford after 40 years. She enjoyed being a part of The Singles and Widows Club at Freedom Chapel AME Zion Church and the Old Rose Tent #584. She is survived by five children; Mary Bratcher, Hubert Peterkin (Della), Sim Peterkin (Connie), Sharon Bowden (Franklin), and Dennis Peterkin (Darlene). 

Wake/visitation with family will be held on Saturday, September 21, 2019 one hour before services at Cape Fear Conference B Headquarters beginning at 1:00 PM.  Funeral services will begin at 2 PM.  Burial will be in the Freedom Chapel Church Cemetery.
